CHOC Chief Academic Officer will participate in a White House summit designed to improve health and fitness for Americans with disabilities
An outspoken advocate for pediatric health and fitness, Dr. Dan Cooper will address the health benefits of clinically tested pediatric exercise programs for children with chronic diseases and disabilities at the White House Summit & Research Forum on Improved Health & Fitness for Americans with Disabilities. The summit is scheduled for Oct. 6 – 7 in Washington, D.C.
The number of children and adults with long-term diseases and disabilities is increasing, said Dr. Cooper. Typically, these individuals can’t exercise in the same manner as their peers. Dr. Cooper urges the clinical and research communities to work together to create clinically tested exercise regimens for children with chronic diseases and disabilities.
